"Utilizing Social Media to Help Build Our Community" to be Presented at April WNET Meeting
For communities, having an active social media presence with relevant content posted regularly helps boost citizen engagement. We also know that volunteering enhances the social connections between different sectors, builds the bridges for governments, local businesses and residents.
Heathe Jones of Cre8 Studios will guide us in an exploration of what happens when we can emotionally connect people with our community and causes using social media at the next Women's Network for Entrepreneurial Training's (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting, Thursday, April 7th, 8 a.m. at Operation Oswego County, 44 West Bridge Street, Oswego. Understanding one's customers is crucial for owners of small businesses and social media is a great way to do that. Everyday local activities and experiences are now massively shared over various social media platforms through geotagged pictures, videos, posts and check-ins. Join us to learn how we can use this information to better communicate!
Heathe Jones is the Social Media Strategist for Friends of Oswego and Creative Director of Cre8 Studios. She has been in marketing for almost 15 years. Heathe grew up in North Carolina and moved to Oswego, NY 5 years ago with her husband Christopher Jones.
Cre8 Studios is an Integrated Marketing and Events company, started 3 years ago by Heathe and Christopher Jones, that is driven to do whatever it takes to deliver breakthrough communications and driven results for clients. They have clients all over the East Coast.
The Friends of Oswego Facebook page reaches 100,000-150,000 people a week making it one of the top community pages in the region. Friends of Oswego was started 2 years ago and has become a driving force that promotes volunteerism and all of the wonderful reasons to live, shop, work, and play in Oswego County.
Through networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides professional development and personal growth for women in business.
The cost for each seminar is $15. Each seminar includes a light breakfast.
