in U.S.
Inc. Magazine, a monthly magazine for entrepreneurs and small businesses,
recently ranked Laser Transit of Lacona number 4,541 on its list
of the 5,000 fastest-growing, private companies in the United States.
The “Inc. 5,000,” an extension of Inc. magazine’s
annual “Inc. 500” list, includes many businesses that
are too big to grow at the pace required to make the “Inc.
500,” as well as a host of smaller firms.
Founded in 1995, Laser Transit, Ltd. is a third-party logistics
firm that offers services in the U.S. and Canada including interstate
truckload transportation, rail and truck distribution with over
325,000 square feet of warehousing, and customized outsourced logistics
management. The company employs over 62 full and part-time employees
including drivers, warehouse operators, mechanics, administrative
and managerial personnel.

advances in the transportation industry has helped Laser Transit
work more efficiently and offer more tailored services to our customers,”
said George Joyce, president and CEO of Laser Transit. “It
is extremely gratifying and a great honor to have Laser Transit’s
business success recognized by one of the most well-known business
publications in the country.”

2003 through 2006. To qualify, companies were required to be U.S.-based,
privately held and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions
of other companies – as of Dec. 31, 2006, and have had at

According to Inc., the fastest-growing companies in the nation
are located in the Midwest with 1,046, followed by the West with
884 companies. The Southeast was third, with 872 companies, followed
by the Northeast with 782 companies, and the Mid-Atlantic region
with 606 companies.
The largest business category is construction, with 561 of the
fastest-growing companies in this category, followed by manufacturing
with 515 companies, IT services in third with 466 companies, business
services with 377 companies and advertising and marketing with 349
companies round out the top five industries ranked on the 2007 Inc.
5,000. Industries reporting the highest total revenue in 2006 are

“With revenue growth exceeding 66 percent in just the last
four years, significant investments in computer technology and diversification
of its services, Laser Transit has achieved remarkable success and
we are very proud to have a business of this caliber located in
Oswego County,” said L. Michael Treadwell, CEcD, executive
director of Operation Oswego County, a private, non-profit organization
working to enhance and protect the economic climate of Oswego County.
“We congratulate Laser Transit for their inclusion in the
