for Entrepreneurial Training Fall Schedule Announced
A new round of monthly small business training seminars sponsored
by the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET)
will be available starting Thursday, Sept. 6, 8 a.m. The first session
will feature Diane Cooper-Currier, who will present "Building
Your Leadership Skills, Part 2."
Cooper-Currier has worked in the human service field for over 20
years and has held a variety of direct care, supervisory and administrative
positions leading to her current position as deputy executive director
for Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. She has extensive experience
in working with youth and families and leading employees in residential,
case management, clinical and outreach environments.
In addition to her work in human services, she has extensive training
experience and has trained on a variety of direct human service,
supervisory and organizational development-related topics. She is
a credentialed trainer for Cornell University’s Family Development
Credentialing Program, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, is a certified
trainer for the National Community Action Peer-to-Peer Outcome Training
and reviewer for the National Agency Awards of Excellence, and has
taught management courses at local universities. Cooper-Currier
is also a small business owner. She holds a bachelor’s degree
from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in social
work from Syracuse University.
All training seminars are held at the SUNY Oswego Institute for
Professional and Organizational Development in the Oswego County
Industrial Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481).
WNET is part of a nationwide roundtable for women business owners,
sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Through
networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides
professional development and personal growth for women business
owners.

Nov. 1: Tom Cusky, "Marketing Strategies for Your Small
Business, Part 1;"

Dec. 6: Tom Cusky, "Marketing Strategies for Your Small
Business, Part 2;" and

Jan. 10, 2008: Kelly Sullivan, "Enhance Your Customer
Service Skills."
The cost for each seminar is $10 for members and $12 for non-members
and includes a light breakfast.
WNET is supported locally by Operation Oswego County, Alliance Bank,
SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational Development,
SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations,
BeautiControl, JEM Consulting, Jody Frawley Advertising and Promotion,
Oliver B. Paine Greenhouses and the SBA.
