Oswego County Industrial Parks Critical to Business Attraction
The economic development assets associated with our industrial
parks enable Oswego County to be competitive when attracting prospective
businesses. Some of those assets include strategic locations near
major highways, airports, railroads, deep water port, existing infrastructure,
economic benefits and incentives, and diverse parcels and buildings
for office, research and development, light industrial, distribution
and manufacturing space.
Operation Oswego County (OOC), a private, non-profit organization
working to enhance economic climate of Oswego County, developed
and operates three industrial parks in Oswego County including the
182-acre Oswego County Industrial Park (OCIP) off of NYS Route 481
in the town of Schroeppel, the 57-acre Lake Ontario Industrial Park
(LIOP) in the city of Oswego and the 170-acre Airport Industrial
Park in the town of Volney.
OOC also works to promote development of privately owned industrial
parks such as the Independence Industrial Park in the town of Scriba,
the Rich Industrial Park in the town of Hastings and the Riverview
Business Park in the town of Volney which is being marketed with
an emphasis on renewable and innovative technologies. OOC is also
involved with the continuing development of a 100-acre Minetto Canal
Park at the former Columbia Mills Brownfield site in the town of
Minetto.
Our industrial parks host a variety of businesses including Northland
Filter and Great Lakes Veneer in the LOIP, National Grid and Canfield
Machine and Tool in the Airport Industrial Park, and 2SQ Machine
and Tool, Enders Racing Engines, Discovery Day Care Center, Oneida
Molded Plastics, QMP Enterprises, Southern Graphics, Super Coil,
Inc., the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational
Development and Time Warner Cable in the OCIP. OOC also operates
a business incubator facility within the OCIP which houses Fulton
Machinery and My Pet Enterprises.
