Funding for your Small Business” to be Presented at May WNET
Meeting
L. Michael Treadwell, executive director of Operation Oswego County,
will present "Obtaining Funding for your Small Business”
at the next Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET)
monthly breakfast meeting Thursday, May 3, 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego
Institute for Professional and Organizational Development in the
Oswego County Industrial Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481).
Aunt Mary’s Italian Cookies and Catering will provide breakfast.
Treadwell has served as executive director for Operation Oswego
County (OOC), a private, non-profit organization working to enhance
and protect the economic climate of Oswego County, for the past
22 years. His responsibilities include structuring and arranging
financing and incentive packaging; developing and implementing economic
development strategies; operating and developing industrial parks
and business incubators; administering an active revolving loan
program; providing site location assistance; and managing the administration
of Small Business Administration 504 loans through OOC.
Treadwell also serves as secretary/treasurer and administrator
for the County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency (IDA), a
public benefit corporation authorized by the New York State legislature
to issue bonds in order to finance economic development projects
and to provide incentives to attract investments and to encourage
job creation and retention.
Under Treadwell’s leadership, OOC has helped to stimulate
more than $2.5 billion in investment and helped to create and retain
over 16,800 jobs in Oswego County.
The next WNET program will be held Thursday, June 7 and will feature
Martha Marshall, a private consultant who conducts mediations, facilitations
and trainings in the area of conflict resolution and communication
studies. The presentation is titled, "Communicating Effectively."
WNET is part of a nationwide roundtable for women business owners,
sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Through
networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides
professional development and personal growth for women business
owners.
