Jan. 17, 2007: Developing Effective Brochures for Small Businesses Topic for February WNET Meeting

Steve Chirello, owner of Chirello Advertising, will present “How to Create a Winning Brochure for Your Small Business” at the next Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting Thursday, Feb. 1, 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational Development in the Oswego County Industrial Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481). Aunt Mary’s Italian Cookies and Catering will provide breakfast.

Steve Chirello provides his clients with more than 29-years experience in marketing, advertising, promotion and public relations. His agency, Chirello Advertising, will celebrate 11 years in business this year and features four graphic designers, web design, and a copywriting professional with journalistic experience as both a writer and editor, and a media planner/buyer. He has won awards for his copywriting and creative ideas from the Syracuse Ad Club, the Oswego County Press Club, and has served as a vice president for the Central New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Chirello was previously employed as public relations manager for Miller Brewing Company in Fulton, director of community relations for Syracuse University and as vice president of Ed Vayner & Associates in Fulton.

The remainder of the WNET spring schedule is as follows:

  • March 1: Diane Cooper-Currier "Building Your Leadership Skills;"

  • April 5: Jeff Grimshaw "Strategic Planning for your Small Business;"

  • May 3: Mike Treadwell "Obtaining Funding for Your Small Business;" and

  • June 7: Martha Marshall "Communicating Effectively."

WNET is part of a nationwide roundtable for women business owners, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Through networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides professional development and personal growth for women business owners.
