26, 2006: INDOOR SPORTS FACILITY TO LOCATE IN CENTRAL SQUARE
Hazen’s Athletic will open a 6,400-square
foot indoor sports facility along with a 2,600-square foot existing
building in Central Square which will be tailored for girl’s
fast pitch softball training. The facility is scheduled for completion
in December 2006 and will feature professional instructors who will
offer classes and private lessons. The facility will also have open
time so softball and baseball players can use the facility to utilize
the batting cages and other training equipment. All athletes will
be able to sign up for classes such as college placement, sport
nutrition, time management skills and sport psychology. The project
will create eight jobs and will receive funding assistance from
the County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency, a Small Business
Administration (SBA) 504 loan through Operation Oswego County and
HSBC Bank. Pictured, from left, are Cathy Pokines, SBA; Heidi Hazen-Forte,
