Feb. 13, 2006: “Successful
Habits of Women Entrepreneurs" to
be Presented at March WNET Meeting
Tracy Higginbotham, owner of Five
Star Events, will present "Successful
Habits of Women Entrepreneurs" at the Women’s Network
for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting Thursday,
March 2, 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and
Organizational Development in the Oswego County Industrial Park,
Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481). Aunt Mary’s Italian
Cookies and Catering will provide breakfast.
Five Star Events is
an event management company specializing in the execution, planning
and coordination of events for corporations, non-profit organizations
and individuals. The company's services
include special event planning, corporate event consulting, event
day management, theme/idea generation, vendor research, event promotion
and publicity, and press release services for small businesses.
Higginbotham
has served as a guest speaker at several colleges, business organizations,
media outlets and chambers of commerce about small business-related
topics such as the value of press releases, organizing a small
business, and marketing tips for small businesses. She is
also a regular columnist for The Post-Standard’s "Ask
the Entrepreneurs" column.
She is the recipient of several
awards including a community service award from SUNY Oswego, a
Syracuse “Forty Under 40” award,
a “25 Women in Leadership” award and the Small Business
Administration’s District 2 “Women-Owned Business Champion.”
Higginbotham
is also the owner of Women TIES, “Women Together
Inspiring Entrepreneurial Success,” which is a business aimed
at creating a regional marketplace between women entrepreneurs
in the greater Central New York region.
“Each women
entrepreneur is successful in her own way,” said Higginbotham. “Individual
strengths, knowledge, education, and expertise in their professional careers
help create successful women business owners, but there are some reoccurring
habits utilized by some that help them to be even more accomplished.”

Ed Schaperjahn, owner of HELP! Small Business Solutions.
The meeting is open to the public. A
registration fee of $10 for members and $12 for non-members covers
the cost of the program and a full breakfast. WNET annual
