Feb. 13, 2006: “Successful Habits of Women Entrepreneurs" to be Presented at March WNET Meeting

Tracy Higginbotham, owner of Five Star Events, will present "Successful Habits of Women Entrepreneurs" at the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting Thursday, March 2, 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional and Organizational Development in the Oswego County Industrial Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481).  Aunt Mary’s Italian Cookies and Catering will provide breakfast.

Five Star Events is an event management company specializing in the execution, planning and coordination of events for corporations, non-profit organizations and individuals.  The company's services include special event planning, corporate event consulting, event day management, theme/idea generation, vendor research, event promotion and publicity, and press release services for small businesses.

Higginbotham has served as a guest speaker at several colleges, business organizations, media outlets and chambers of commerce about small business-related topics such as the value of press releases, organizing a small business, and marketing tips for small businesses.  She is also a regular columnist for The Post-Standard’s "Ask the Entrepreneurs" column.

She is the recipient of several awards including a community service award from SUNY Oswego, a Syracuse “Forty Under 40” award, a “25 Women in Leadership” award and the Small Business Administration’s District 2 “Women-Owned Business Champion.”

Higginbotham is also the owner of Women TIES, “Women Together Inspiring Entrepreneurial Success,” which is a business aimed at creating a regional marketplace between women entrepreneurs in the greater Central New York region.

“Each women entrepreneur is successful in her own way,” said Higginbotham.  “Individual strengths, knowledge, education, and expertise in their professional careers help create successful women business owners, but there are some reoccurring habits utilized by some that help them to be even more accomplished.”
