Jan. 19, 2006: “Organizational Skills for Managing
Your Small Business” Topic for February WNET Meeting
Lisa DeVeau, president of Completely
Organized will present “Organizational
Skills for Managing Your Small Business” at the Women’s
Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting
Thursday, Feb. 2, 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego Institute for Professional
and Organizational Development in the Oswego County Industrial
Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481). Aunt Mary’s
Italian Cookies and Catering will provide breakfast.
In addition to operating Completely
Organized, DeVeau is a columnist for The Post-Standard and speaks
regularly to professional groups and young adults on the topic
of organization. The bulk
of her business is “hands-on organizing” and she offers
services with a “personal trainer approach” to helping
clients develop organizing systems for homes and offices. Her
motto is “being organized is not a gift, but a skill that
can be learned.” DeVeau is a member of both the national
and state chapters of the Association of Professional Organizers.
The remainder of the WNET spring schedule is as follows:
- March 2: "Successful Habits of
Women Entrepreneurs" by Tracey Higginbotham, owner
of Five Star Events;
- April 6: “Personal Motivation
Strategies for Promoting Your Business” by Paula Behm,
professional development specialist, SUNY Oswego Institute for
Professional and Organizational Development;
- May 4: “Building a Brand for Your
Small Business” by Shane Stepien, owner of Step
One Creative; and
- June 1: “Cyber Safety” by
Ed Schaperjahn, owner of HELP! Small Business Solutions.
The meeting is open to the public. A registration fee of
$10 for members and $12 for non-members covers the cost of the
program and a full breakfast. WNET annual membership is $10. Contact

WNET is part of a nationwide roundtable
for women business owners, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA). Through
networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides
professional development and personal growth for women business
owners.
