Sept. 19, 2005: Job and Career Fair to be Held Sept. 29
OSWEGO, NY— People looking for a new job, education to begin
a new career, or training to start a small business may find the
help they need at the Oswego County Job and Career Fair, Thursday,
Sept. 29 at the Elks Lodge on the corner of state Route 104 and
132 West 5th Street in Oswego. The event will be held from 11 a.m.
to 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by Operation Oswego County (OOC)
and Career Connection. Admission is free.
Several employers, colleges and agencies will be at the fair. Some
will accept resumes from job seekers, while others will be there
to explain options regarding education and retraining available
for those seeking a career change.
"The Oswego County Job and Career Fair brings together, under
one roof, all the tools people need to improve their careers,"
said Christine Weaver, coordinator of employment services for Career
Connection.
“This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for
a job or career change, to find out about employment opportunities
and services available to assist job seekers,” said L. Michael
Treadwell, CEcD, executive director of OOC.
In addition to OOC and Career Connection, companies and agencies
represented at the fair will include AAA Western and Central New
York, A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Hospitals Home Health Care, Inc.
(partnership between A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Oswego Hospital,
and St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center), ITT Technical Institute,
Oswego County Opportunities Oswego/FultonDailyNews.com, New York
State Department of Labor, the United States Army and Reserves and
WSEN/WFBL Radio.
