May 12, 2005: OOC Receives Marketing Grant from Entergy

Operation Oswego County (OOC) was awarded a $4,500 grant from Entergy Nuclear Northeast’s Charitable Foundation for the development of a new promotional display which will highlight quality of life in Oswego County, as well as the economic development services and programs offered by OOC.

The four-color table top display includes a laptop computer which will allow booth representatives to show digital presentations about business development and quality of life in Oswego County, present customized Power Point presentations and offer booth visitors real time access to the Internet and OOC’s comprehensive website.
OOC communicates incentives and initiatives to existing and prospective business through local and regional promotion and advertising, by utilizing collateral material, and through direct marketing to site selection consultants at trade shows and industry-specific events.

“Industry specific and other economic development related trade shows are an excellent opportunity to promote Oswego County’s economic resources to a captive audience of industry executives, investors and site selection consultants that may possibly be outgrowing their current manufacturing facilities or are finding it necessary to expand into new regions to better serve their markets,” said L. Michael Treadwell, CEcD, OOC executive director.

“With the help of Entergy, our new display will be used to assist our efforts to attract new and expanding businesses which contribute to the economic health of Oswego County, provide new and increased job opportunities and add to the variety of products and services available to county residents. We appreciate Entergy’s commitment and continued partnership in fostering economic development in Oswego County.”

The Entergy Charitable Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to supporting charitable organizations in the diverse communities where Entergy customers and employees live and work. The Foundation's goal is to support initiatives that help create and sustain thriving communities.

OOC is a private, non-profit economic development corporation whose mission is to establish and implement economic development strategies to enhance the economic vitality of Oswego County’s businesses and citizens. Since its inception, the development agency has helped deliver over $2.3 billion in investments and over 15,000 new and retained jobs to Oswego County.
