Oct. 6, 2003: Equipment
Acquisitions Made by Potential Chocolate Manufacturers
With the assistance of Loeb
Equipment and Appraisal Company, equipment acquisitions by the Fulton
Chocolate Company, Inc. and Lion Capital Management are now complete.
Loeb President James Newman
helped facilitate the packaging of the equipment to allow for purchase
by the two potential investor groups working toward securing agreements
to manufacture chocolate at the former Nestle plant in Fulton.
“This is a major first
step toward completing this project and bringing much needed jobs
back to Fulton,” said L. Michael Treadwell, executive director
of Operation Oswego County and County of Oswego Industrial Development
Agency (IDA) board member. “Although the IDA is still working
toward finalizing an agreement of the terms and conditions of the
property transaction with Nestle, negotiations have been positive
and we anticipate an agreement in the near future.”
Last week, the IDA established
a committee to negotiate the terms and conditions of the proposed
property transfer with Nestle USA. The IDA retained C&S Companies
of Syracuse to conduct environmental assessments, building condition
and winterization reports, and a property survey for the property.
“On behalf of Operation
Oswego County and the IDA, we are grateful for the invaluable support
of U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, state Sen. James Wright and Empire
State Development during the equipment acquisition process,”
Treadwell said.
